Hand Therapists
Janet Sanders, OTR/L, CHT
Owner, Certified Hand Therapist
Janet attended Oregon State University and the University of Puget Sound, receiving dual Bachelor's degrees. She has been a licensed Occupational Therapist for over 35 years, working alongside hand surgeons and directing therapy clinics. She opened Sanders Hand Therapy in 2011 to service the Woodburn Community. The company has since expanded to multiple locations. Understanding the needs of the area, she has since added multiple pediatric therapists to her staff and continues to evolve the business to help those in need of therapy.
Shannon Wakem, OTR/L, CHT
Certified Hand Therapist
Shannon was born and raised in small-town North Dakota and has lived in Oregon for over 10 years. She received a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy in 2000 from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Shannon started working at Providence in 2003, completing a mentorship in hand therapy, continuing her 10 years of service, and specializing in the treatment of hand injuries. Shannon joined our team in 2013 with the goal of providing more individualized care in an environment that supports increasing function in patients with hand injuries.
Kirstyn Murphy, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Murphy was born and raised in the great state of Ohio. Immediately after graduating from Sandusky High School, Murphy went on to enlist in the U.S. Navy. There, she became an Aviation Boatswains Mate Equipmentman onboard the USS Harry S. Truman, spending day and night launching and recovering aircrafts. During her enlistment, she met her loving husband, Ryan. Together, they attended West Virginia University where Murphy pursued a Masters in Occupational Therapy, as well as minored in Psychology and Family Studies. Not long after graduation, Murphy and her husband moved to Portland, Oregon.
Jessica Smith OTR/L, CHT
Jess was born and raised in the Livermore, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo and graduated with her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Northern Arizona University in 2018. She completed her residency at OHSU with a focus on neurodegenerative conditions, and has worked with children and adults across a range of abilities and conditions. Upon joining the Sanders team in 2022, her focus has been on providing evidence based care specialized in treating the upper extremity.
Rachel Cohen, OTD/L
Rachel is a native Oregonian, growing up in the small town of Sandy, OR. She attended Oregon State University where she studied kinesiology with a focus in the medical humanities. She then went on to pursue a doctorate of occupational therapy from Tufts University in Boston, MA. After graduating with her OTD, Rachel moved back home to Oregon to be closer to her family and friends while also starting a career in hand therapy. Rachel's interests outside of work include trying new restaurants, reading, snowboarding, and learning how to golf.
Megan Dussault OTR/L, CHT
I have 5 years of OT experience, with 3 of those years spent practicing as a hand therapist. I have recently moved back to NW Oregon from Medford with my longtime partner. I enjoy international travel, spending time outdoors, and I am an avid birdwatcher.
Pediatric Therapists
Jenelle Reid, OTR/L
Pediatric Occupational Therapist, MS, OTR/L
Jenelle is our lead Pediatric Occupational Therapist. She was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine and her Masters of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from CSU, Dominguez Hills. In 2014, Jenelle and her family moved to Oregon and fell in love with all the trees, rivers, and natural beauty. As an Occupational Therapist, she has worked with people of all ages and abilities in the outpatient and hospital setting. When not at work, she loves spending time with her husband, two children and dog. They love hiking, camping, snowboarding, and being outdoors.
Laura Vigeland
Speech Language Pathologist
Laura grew up in Canby, Oregon and graduated from University of Oregon with a master’s in Communication Disorders and Sciences in 2016. Since becoming a Speech Therapist, she has worked in both early childhood and school-age pediatric settings providing a variety of speech and language therapy services. She has studied Spanish for several years and is excited to serve a mutli-lingual community. When not at work, Laura enjoys birdwatching, baking, and reading with her cat.

Ginger Holman, PT/MPT
Physical Therapist
Ginger was born and raised in Woodburn, Oregon. She attended Oregon State University and earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science in 1993. She went on to Western University of Health Science in Southern California for her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. Ginger has worked in the mid Willamette Valley for 25 years specializing in manual therapy and orthopedics. She is married with two college aged boys and enjoys family time and watching them in their endeavors of baseball and music.
